Okay, continuing the theme of compact reviews to try and get me up to date...
The Sun Makers
Pretty much a foray into politics and a poke at a government that had some pretty robust taxation policies... Contains one of my favourite throwaway remarks...
Leela: These 'taxes', they are like sacrifices to tribal gods?
The Doctor: Well, roughly speaking, but paying taxes is more painful.
There's quite a bit of camping from the supporting cast but it does work well even if the moral of the story becomes more of a 2-by-4 by the end.
8/10
Underworld
Pretty enjoyable story with a couple of good twists. More ramifications from the Time Lords buggering about in the early days of civilisations. It gets a bit badly executed towards the end which takes some of the sheen off it but it's still pretty dark. I'm fairly sure this was the first time I've ever seen this one and I was pleasantly surprised.
7/10
The Invasion of Time
Sontarans, Gallifrey, the 4th Doctor, what could possibly go wrong? Well, pretty much everything apparently. This has to have the record as one of the few stories where every episode is worse than the last. The first episode is actually quite good and the scripting is rather entertaining but by the end it's just terrible. I can't think of much else to say about it - massive, massive let down.
2/10 (and that's just because of episode 1)
