And so, to Destiny...
The opening regeneration of Romana just seems a tad unnecessary and is never really explained as to why she is regenerating. Maybe I'm a little bitter these days because I was a massive fan of Mary Tamm and I think it's a real shame she only got the one season. That being said, Lalla Ward is instantly charming as Romana II and her only real flaw is that she's not Mary Tamm, which I suppose I can't really blamer her for...
The story itself is pretty basic. The Daleks have found another race of robotic gits (Movellans, apparently) to fight and they're locked in a tactical impasse. So the Daleks go looking for Davros to try and spice things up a bit. The Doctor gets in the way and ends up helping the Movellans. Everyone has a row, the end.
First of the series script edited by Douglas Adams and it's a bit of a slow start unfortunately.
Interesting premise, missed opportunity but Douglas gets instant points for hiding a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy joke in plain view.
6/10
