It’s really hard to know where to start with this one. I find it hard to write about stories when I’m enjoying them hugely, I get involved and forget to type stuff. And this one I enjoy.
Again, this is very well scripted – Great quips and insults.
The story is very dark – both in terms of the setting and the story itself - we're basically presented with a sort of Frankenstein's monster but more gruesome - the creature is already alive but in mind only and needs a form to carry it.
We're afforded some more Time-Lordery as we meet another Time Lord and also the mysterious Sisterhood of Karn who have managed to make themselves (and where needed the Time Lords) immortal.
The story also benefits from brilliant imagery – the brain itself and then the patchwork monster into which it is placed.
It also helps that the acting is splendid. We have Philip Madoc starring, who I could listen to read the telephone directory.
I can't say a huge amount more than that - like I say when I'm enjoying a story I forget to type much and get to the end and just think "Well that was brill - can't really remember why..."
Great story... 9/10
