Full Circle
Okay, well the first to thing say about this is that it was written by a chap who went on to become a police officer. And who once gave me a lift to Slough train station, thus avoiding me a costly taxi fare. I probably shouldn't take this into account but I rather suspect I might be biased at this point...
The story is a very nice concept that's kinda hard to explain. A starliner that crashed on an inhospitable planet centuries ago has a small society built around it. They want to go home. I suppose that's sort of it but it threads some very dystopian themes around evolutionary ones and is very enjoyable. It does introduce a companion who becomes rather, well, let's be nice and say "divisive". Some love him, some hate him, some hate him a lot. Personally, I've always thought Adric was unfairly slated in an age where we have become sick of the cheeky child genius stereotype.
Anyway, a very engaging story and one that feels different from a lot of Doctor Who and doesn't try to talk down to its audience.
8/10
State of Decay and Warrior's Gate are somehow good stories but non-memorable. The former seems like a waste of vampires somehow and the latter was a bit all over the place.
State of Decay - 7/10
Warrior's Gate - 6/10
